The Days Ahead Are Fraught With Danger

President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) headed by Elon Musk continues to expose wastages, abuse and fraud in the finances of the US government. Following the initial revelation of the USAID fiasco, more shocking news was announced. Among many others, two very serious issues came to light:

i) It was discovered that Social Security database shows that 20.789 million Americans are collecting social security benefits over the age of 100 with the oldest being 369 year old! It was pointed out that this might be the biggest fraud in history.

ii) In the Department of Treasury, ID code (Treasury Access Symbol) for $4.7 trillion in federal payment was intentionally left blank. The ID code is for the purpose of tracing where the money goes. Without the ID code the money cannot be traced.

Furthermore, as part of his agenda to address unfair trade imbalances, on April 2, Trump’s plan to implement “Reciprocal Tariffs” on all US trading partners will come into effect. The concept is if countries (over 170 countries do) impose tariffs on US goods, the US would impose equivalent tariffs on those countries’ goods. This "eye-for-an-eye" approach is intended to level the playing field, protect American workers, and reduce the US trade deficit of about $1 trillion annually.

The reaction to the above will certainly see major upheavals in the financial markets. Added to that, supply chains, prices, trade relations, and geopolitics would also face upheavals vis-a-vis the rest of the world.

The sudden drastic reduction of money spent by the billions or even trillions in such a short span of time has and will continue to shock the public especially those who were supposed to have receive them both within the US and abroad, if not for Trump’s actions.

Within the US there already were sporadic protests in the last few weeks against the Trump’s administration and against Elon Musk and his car company Tesla. Tesla cars were firebombed, scratched and sprayed with graffiti while some drivers were beaten up. The Trump Administration quickly moves to declare those who carry out those acts as domestic terrorists and will face prison terms.

In spite of harsh reprisals, on April 5 an umbrella organization calling itself “The 50501 Movement” comprising every left-wing group in the nation is planning to hold massive nationwide public protests. The authorities are bracing for violence.
